ElectroFix Tycoon Power-Ups and Events: Thieves, Fires and Blackouts
Every power-up in ElectroFix Tycoon and what it costs in gems, plus how thieves, bench fires, power cuts and offline earnings work and how to prepare for each.
Most of what goes wrong in ElectroFix Tycoon follows fixed rules, which means you can prepare for it. This guide covers the seven power-ups and each event. Numbers are from version 1.0.1 and can change with balance updates.
Power-ups
Power-ups are single-use. You win them from the daily spin, the chest and challenges, or buy them with gems.

The Builder’s Hammer is the best use of gems late in the game, when a single bench upgrade can take a day or more of real time.
Thieves
Thieves can appear from day 3, and only when there is $40 or more on the counter. Your defences, cheapest first:
- Collect counter cash often, or hire Customer Care (level 3) to do it.
- Catch the thief yourself.
- Hire a Security Guard (level 4, $180). Higher ranks run faster.
- Theft insurance ($20 a day) refunds 80% of what is taken.
- A Thief Shield power-up blocks thieves for a whole shop day.
Bench fires
From day 5, a bench can catch fire. There are two causes: a small random chance (3% every 30 seconds of shop time), and overheating when devices sit unrepaired on a bench for 90 seconds.
Once a fire starts you have 26 seconds to reach it before the bench is lost. Until someone is fighting it, the fire burns $4 of your cash every second. A lost bench also costs a clean-up bill.
Power cuts
Each day has a 45% chance of a power cut lasting 35 seconds. Benches stop unless you own a Backup Generator. Level 2 keeps them at half speed and level 12 at full speed.
A power cut during a rush is when a Patience Freeze earns its 4 gems: 45 seconds of frozen patience covers the whole outage.
Breakdowns
Every finished repair has a 7% chance of breaking that bench. At level 1 the fix is $25 and 10 seconds. The cost rises 25% and the time 15% with each bench level, so breakdowns become a real expense later on.
Earning while you are away
The shop keeps earning for 2 hours after you close the game. Each Technician completes 5 repairs an hour while you are away. In the Android app, watching an ad adds 2 more hours to your next absence, up to a maximum of 8.
Benches can still break down while you are away (a 12% chance per hour), so expect to fix one or two when you come back.
Daily rewards
The login streak runs for seven calendar days and then restarts. Missing a day resets it to day 1.

The cash amounts grow 15% for each player level above 1. You also get three daily challenges, such as finishing a shop day with no walkouts ($200 and 2 gems) or catching a thief yourself ($150 and 2 gems).
